Samosa Fusion is located at 100 Mearns Ave., in Bowmanville, the municipality east of Oshawa. Note that on weekends at least that it opens at noon but the buffet doesn’t starts until an hour later. When we visited, it had a (very) new modern brighter interior, so much so that it appears to be just after the grand opening. There were plenty of vegan dishes.
Mock mutton was delicious and beautifully seasoned and we didn't miss that it wasn't meat. Curried tofu was excellent. Mishy raved about how good the chicken curry was. Even the eggplant was excellent, and usually is not my favourite, with a mustardy hint and some persistent heat. Paneer curry was delicious and richly seasoned. Basmati rice was fragrant and with caraway.
Green salad was very good with green dressing. Indian coleslaw was excellent with good sauce and very fresh. Aloo gobi was very good and well-seasoned. There with some little cookie-like things resembling stuffing which very good and with sage, one was fish cake possibly, all three were different and delicious but didn’t get the name.
There is no ice cream for dessert but the sweets were fantastic... the full name which shows on Google Maps is actually “Samosa Fusion and Sweets” so this is to be expected (that doesn’t show on the signage so perhaps it was changed for simplicity’s sake.) White yogurty, tan nutty, nutty fudgy, and white chocolatey squares whatever they may be actually called were all excellent and in keeping with the rest of the offerings were very fresh. Weekend lunch is $29.99 without a reservation but $22.99 with one (never seen this done before) so be sure to reserve! Was not one item less than excellent and the price is certainly right... only a few dollars more than Mumbay Grill, so very near to perfection.
