NO LONGER AYCE - Midtown Gastro Hub (Western)

Update: 2021-Aug-20 - There is currently no buffet/AYCE at this location post-lockdown even though it is now permitted, and it is unknown if and when it will ever return. I am therefore removing it from the active list, and will follow up periodically and restore it should it return to AYCE status.

Midtown Gastro Hub is located at 1535 Yonge St., just n. of the St. Clair subway station so is very transit-accessible. Midtown serves Sunday brunch buffet from 9 to 3. It has a nice interior with two levels. Coffee is around $2 and "bottomless" AYCD, but there are also several inclusive AYCD juices available in pitchers.

Chili thai chicken was very good and we enjoyed it.  Sausages were a bit dry but still tasty. Home fries were quite good with added onions and peppers. Baked beans were good and not too sweet. We were very thankful that there are Eggs Benedict. Mishy said they needed a little more flavour, but I didn't mind them and was very happy they were present and they probably just need a little bit of salt and pepper... there's plenty of seasoning nearby. Roast beef was excellent, especially with the nearby au jus it was very savory and it was tender and juicy, and another welcome and excellent addition (considering the price.)

Apple crumble was also good and a welcome addition. Rum cake was also available and it was really delicious and I don't think anywhere else had it. Vegetable lasagna was also quite good and I enjoyed it. Coleslaw was not bad but a bit bland, and similarly was the village Greek salad. Jello was cherry and excellent, not watered down. Cantaloupe and honeydew melon slices were fresh and good. Celery, carrot and pepper slices were quite good with the added caesar dressing nearby. There is even a custom omelet station... I ordered mine with everything plus extra ham and cheese, and it was excellent. The conveniently located seasonings including many pepper sauces certainly assist.

Sunday brunch was only $13.99. Especially with the roast beef and Eggs Benedict, this is an excellent value. Although some items were okay to good, it was still quite worthwhile and we ended up returning the next Sunday for more.
