Kung Fu Beef Chinese BBQ

Kung Fu Beef Chinese BBQ is located at 460 Dundas St. W. Near Spadina Ave. in downtown Toronto's Chinatown district. AYCD canned pop is included. Kung Fu uses electric instead of gas burners which is better, not only for not burning fossil gas, but also for emitting less smokiness in the premises (which is suspected of causing health issues) and rather than having a flat grill as I’ve seen elsewhere, the stove-like coil burner is beneath a screen, like a gas burner, which leads to better results (such as the fat being able to drip.) Free Wifi is available. Dipping sauces and spices near the front all were excellent.

Kimchi was very good and spicy, and we both enjoyed it. North style cold noodle was delicious with hints of sesame oil and cilantro. The Secret Recipe Beef was excellent; it was like having a steak albeit a bit thinner but still large and juicy and delicious, especially with the really excellent dipping sauces such as the Chinese and Korean. Prime Kalbi short rib, Seasoned Marinated Beef and Korean Style Snow Beef were all very good as well. Bacon-wrapped enoki mushroom was surprisingly good as I usually don't like an those mushrooms at all. Pineapple turned out very well when grilled, and was fresh. New Orleans chicken wings were delicious and only took about ten minutes to grill properly. Mishy didn't like the mushroom stuffed with shrimp but I liked them.

Vegetables plate contained mushroom, zucchini and sweet potato; they were quite good after being grilled although I burnt the zucchini. Mishy absolutely adored the salad and said the sauce was excellent. I liked the Korean rice, which was like bibimbap without the egg, and not overly spicy like Sriracha is.

For dessert, there are imported Chinese ice cream bars which were quite enjoyable. Weekend all-day price was $42; this is comparable to Gyubee and other tabletop BBQ places for dinner, but over $10 more expensive for lunch (also similar to other places.) So, I’ll average the zero or two point loss for this excess to one point. It was definitely a very enjoyable lunch/dinner (hard to tell being later afternoon) but the price would make me wary of a return.
