Tandoori Feast is located at 670 Coronation Dr. in Scarborough, the borough in Toronto's east end. It’s located in an industrial area, and does delivery/catering so the seating and buffet may have been added as an afterthought. There is currently only Friday night dinner buffet from 8-1030pm, but Indian AYCEs are now very rare in Toronto proper, so it's nice to see a new one.
Mango juice on tap is included, so no pop was required but it still present (and also included!) if asked for. Chana masala was delicious and well-spiced. Tiny samosas were excellent and uniquely seasoned, so clearly made fresh onsite. French fries were a surprising option, shoestring and tasty. Aloo potatoes were very well-spiced and delicious. Gobi cauliflower (yes, the two are separate) excellently seasoned. Beef nihari was excellent in a delicious gravy. Chicken kirahi had fantastically good spicing and was very savory.
Lamb karma was excellent (and I usually don’t like lamb) as the way it is cooked gets rid of the gamey lamb flavor. Chicken and beef kababs were both excellent and wonderfully deliciously spiced in combinations I have not experienced. Fish had a super-light breading which was crispy and beautifully seasoned. Chicken tikka boti was very much like tandoori chicken and was very good, moist and flavorful. Chicken pulao was delicious with basmati rice and biryani seasoning. Halwa was a delicious porridge-like desserty dish flavoured with rosewater. Salad very fresh though plain with no dressing.
For dessert, balls of gulub jamun were excellent with just enough honey sauce already on them. Fudge brownies were another unexpected treat and very good, rich and delicious. Baklava was very good and not overly sweet. Kheer rice pudding delicious and flavored like halwa. Tandoori Feast’s proprietor was present working alongside the other staff, and he seemed very nice and welcoming, and appreciated our compliments. Dinner price was $25.99 and this is quite reasonable these days; the included beverages were a nice bonus. Everything was very freshly made and there wasn’t one dish at Tandoori Feast that could be faulted or was anything less than excellent. I don't call much perfect these days, but Tandoori Feast definitely was.
