The Novotel hotel is located at 33 Nicholas Street in downtown Ottawa, centrally located a few minutes from Parliament. It’s certainly not the GTA, but as Mishy and I found ourselves there and that have a breakfast buffet, we figured may as well take the opportunity for another review. The interior buffet was elegant with plenty of hardwood; seems like a nice business-class hotel.
Edam from the cheese platter was excellent. Fresh cheese in a dessert cup was rich and creamy and possibly homemade; very good. Sausage was spicy and good. Homemade granola was among the best, if not the best, granola I have had including commercial brands; excellent blend including honey which really made it. Scrambled eggs were fluffy and good though a bit cold.
Sliced turkey was delicious. Sliced ham was very good. Bread appears baked on premises, and Mishy commented it was excellent. There are Nutella cups to put on it. Bacon was cooked perfectly, and very fresh, not with the slightly-off flavour many breakfast buffets have. Coffee is included and had a nice flavour and aroma and was of course fresh.
Breakfast buffet was $22, and this was actually quite reasonable as it was excellent and filled me up for the remainder of the day. Was definitely enjoyed by both of us.
