Gyubee Japanese BBQ - Mississauga

Gyubee Mississauga is located in the Mississauga Marketplace plaza at 4559 Hurontario. Newly built as of this writing. Orders are given to the waiter via their electronic order system, so are almost always accurate, as with other Gyubees. Unfortunately also as with other locations, disposable chopsticks are used but we brought our own. Has a nice modern stone interior, noisy as it was packed, with a 45 min wait. Also as with other Gyubees, reservations of parties of less than seven are not accepted anytime; first come first serve but at least they have a queue system which will text and works through the Yelp app. There is also a 90 min dining time limit; I start my timer when the first food arrives and have never had an issue. AYCD pop is $3. Free Wi-Fi is available.

Bibimbap has a different formulation than the other Gyubees with ground beef in it and less sriracha sauce; this left the rice on the dry side but the ground beef was nice. Cabbage salad we also noticed was different; it had less sauce than at other places and also was missing the tomato on the top. Both of these we found were a step back. Mishy didn't think that the miso soup had as much umami as at other Gyubees, but I still liked it as long as it is stirred first, as it settles. The kimchi also had excessive heat and not enough tanginess in the sauce.

All of the meats for pretty much the same as the other Gyubee locations. The shrimp was excellent with the soy sauce and shakeable spice, as the soy sauce is sweet and flavorful and winey and Missy also loved it. Only short rib and brisket beef are available on the lunch menu, but the short rib seemed even better seasoned than I remember at other locations and it was think and delicious (and appreciatedly boneless.)

For dessert, one Melona bar is provided, and this is enough. Service as always is very fast and efficient, which it needs to be with the customer volume. Weekend lunch is $28.99 and given the prices in the area, and especially these days of food in general, this is quite good. We were satisfied all day and lunch at (any!) Gyubee is always welcome.
