Korean Grill House - Spadina

This location of the Korean Grill House chain can be found at 431 Spadina Ave. at College, in Toronto’s core. Has a new, elegant, dark contemporary interior. Reusable chopsticks are used happily, as at the other Korean Grill Houses. Soy at table was delicious, flavourful, fresh and not salty. We went with the basic beef/pork/chicken/fish fillet/squid, with extra $3 for vegetable options, initially opting for the vegetables but then cancelled them once we saw they were just raw vegetables... all of our favourites are already on the regular menu. Pop is $2 canned not AYCD. Free Wifi is available.

Deep fried tofu was delicious and very well seasoned. Mishy loved the seasoned potatoes. Spicy and regular bean sprouts were both delicious and we both loved them. Japchae glass noodles were amazing and we both loved them as well. Kimchi was very good and had a bit of heat, but not too much thankfully.

The stars of the show, the beef, chicken and pork, were all of course excellent on the grill and went well with the seasoning. The fish fillets were unexpectedly good and I ended up ordering seconds. I didn't even mind the squid although it was as usual rubbery, and I'm finally using the term properly unlike Mishy with her chicken teriyaki.

There are no desserts but we don't need any. 13% gratuity is added to the bill even for a party of two. However this is about the tip I would pay anyway, so that takes care of it. Weekday lunch is only $20.99, and $22.99 weekend when we went. This is a fantastic value for such good food, considering there is unlimited beef and some non-trivial cost to cooking it. With adjusted rating for value, and no complaints about the quality, Korean Grill House is pretty much perfect.

Rating: 10 / 10
