Spoon and Fork Plus is located at 478 Dundas St. W. in Oakville, the municipality two west of Toronto. We biked there from the Oakville GO station but unsure of further transit-accessibility. Like Corner, it offers Thai and Italian pasta options in addition to the Japanese AYCE items of Spoon and Fork. Has a nice darker modern interior. As with all other Spoon and Fork locations, chopsticks are reusables and a spoon and fork is included in the place setting of course. Soy sauce at table was rather salty but fresh enough.
Hot and sour soup was not really either hot or sour but still good enough... at least it was fresh and without a trace of being burnt as is all-too-common. Caesar salad was good with plenty of Parmesan. Miso soup was rich and savory. Mishy did not like the bruschetta saying that it was cold and unappetizing, and not crispy but although it was too cold by the time I got to it (not their fault,) I didn't mind it at all.
Spoon and Fork Plus has sashimi on the lunch menu! Red snapper sashimi was a bit fishy but not off. Tamago egg was good. Salmon sashimi very fresh. Salmon nigiri was fresh and good. California roll was also fresh and good, although a bit loose. Inari aka tofu sushi was quite good and tasty. Green Dragon roll was good but Mishy also noted that they are falling apart, as well as other sushi, maki and nigiri offerings.
Garlic beef was delicious, as was satay beef and chicken, and loved the seasoning. The included peanut sauce was also tasty. Chicken wings were excellent with the included sweet-and-sour sauce. Shrimp tempura was also very good, not oily and the sauce was excellent. Chicken and beef teriyaki were both excellent, practically worth the price of the meal, with much smokiness and savour; the beef was also extraordinarily tender and seemed like a very good cut of steak. We both loved the sauteed sliced beef with garlic, as it had a bold and delicious flavour. Pepper beef was quite good and not too hot, thankfully. Butter chicken was an unexpected item, but it was extremely good, more so than at most Indian buffets I have been to. There are only two pieces per order they but were very enjoyable and of course one can always order more of it. Black truffle sacchetti wasn't overly full of black truffle, but it was tasty nonetheless; I wouldn't expect much as it's very expensive.
For dessert, Spoon and Fork offers soft-serve green tea ice cream, which I have never encountered anywhere else, and can be had mixed with the vanilla ice cream which was absolutely fantastically good, and excellent by itself as well. Mango pudding was exceedingly rich and wonderful. Weekend lunch was $27.99 and this is not bad at all considering sashimi being present (although I failed to note the cost of pop and whether it was AYCD.) There were enough very good items that we can consider it an excellent lunch and would happily return.
