Pizza Hut (Western)

Buffet AYCE pizza, pasta, breadsticks and salad used to be a thing throughout the vast Pizza Hut chain (still 274 locations in Ontario!) generally, however the only place currently known to be offering it is the 592 Ellesmere Road and Birchmount Ave. location in Scarborough, Toronto’s eastern borough. It’s $15 and only on weekday lunch for two hours starting at 11:30. Pop is bottled for $3, and this is quite a good price because the bottles are 591 millilitres, which is two-thirds larger than a can. There is a pump dispenser filled with the marinara sauce for the breadsticks, and small containers for it.

Alfredo penne salad was quite tasty, marinara penne salad was pretty good. Mishy said the pepperoni pizza was delicious as usual. Cheese pizza was delicious, with mushroom crumble. Meat lovers' pizza meat was scant but the flavour remained so it was quite good, of course! Pizza Hut pizza isn’t artisanal, but certainly isn’t bad either.... it’s “fun food”!

There is salad available with caesar dressing and croutons and it was quite good. There are two dressing and crouton containers on the buffet but they are duplicated.

There is even a dessert: apple dessert pizza; note the stripes of applesauce across it. Mishy loved it too and had seconds. To be sure, there is a limited set of offerings but they were good and satisfying, and the price was certainly right! While it’s hard for most of us to eat $15 or more worth of just pizza, it’s a very good value with the sides and reasonable pop included.
