CLOSED - Star Walk International Buffet (Pan-Asian)

UPDATE 2015-Feb-13: Unfortunately Star Walk now walks among the stars, having joined so many other failed AYCEs. A sad loss, but there are still plenty of other good places to go.

Star Walk International Buffet is located at 648 Silver Star Blvd.in Scarborough, near Kennedy and Steeles. We've been there several times before, but never got around to writing it up.

Since the last time we were there, the interior has been completely remodeled. The interior is darker and more elegant, huge chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and the tables and chairs are new (I really like the chairs.) It looks like a very upscale restaurant now, and it's amazing that the prices are still as reasonable as they always were. There were a couple of nice bonuses: lunch is until 3pm, and since we arrived after 2pm were given a discount, self-serve soft drinks and slushies (strawberry, green apple and mango) are included.

The service was very friendly; the wait staff and everyone else seemed  happy to be working in such a nice location.  Of course, the most important part is the food! The cuisine is mostly Chinese, but there is a selection of western and other offerings, and there is a sushi bar. The sushi was good and fresh. I also enjoyed the spring rolls and Buddha's Delight (mixed vegetarian.) The chicken balls were good as they were mostly chicken, unlike in some places.  Chicken wings were good. I tried a few other dishes as well but failed to note which ones... I did enjoy them.

There are numerous very Chinese entrees that you usually won't see at other AYCE's here... some of them may be a bit too exotic for the occidental palate (ie pork blood cubes and chicken feet.)
Mishy claimed to not like desserts, but she still managed to load two waffles with ice cream and chocolate sauce  :P I enjoyed the green tea ice cream and the chocolate and vanilla frozen yogurt machine.

Star Walk's fare isn't superlative, but it is good and reliably so. Combined with the bonuses, the wonderful decor and the cost, I'm inclined to give it an 8-8.5/10 (and we have returned since writing this.)
